From STS Wiki Vienna
Welcome to the STS Wiki Vienna. This wiki is maintained by a loose collective of STS students and some members of the HEARTS (Heterogeneous, Emancipatory and Radical TechnoScientists). It is open for everyone to use, especially in context of STS related topics. You can create your own account and start editing this wiki right away. If you have questions, please write to sts (at) lnxnt (dot) org. Until May 29 2011, this site was home to the weblog of the Going EASST010 project. Now this blog is archived here: http://sts.lnxnt.org/easst010

[edit] Introduction - What to do here?
Hi! Are you new to this wiki and have no clue yet what it's good for? If you are not here by complete random chance, take a look at this short intro text and decide afterwards if it is worth going into these pages in more detail. There might be at least one of the following reasons why you are here:
- you are part of or interested in one of the projects that are hosted on this wiki
- you are new to the STS master program at University of Vienna
- you are interested in the STS master program at University of Vienna
Depending on this you might take different stances towards this wiki and its pages. Here some important notes what to do:
- New to the master program: Please read the Communication section and follow the described steps there (if you want to get in touch with your fellow students)
- Working on / interest in a specific project: Look up the Projects section and go to the page of the project you are interested in. If you want to start a new project, just put a new link into this section and start of with a new project page.
- Interested in the STS master program: if you have not done so, look up the department's pages regarding the program and the STS master programme infos page in this wiki. If you already have done so and want to get in contact with students, you can post your questions at the discussion page. (Every wiki page has a related discussion/talk page which is linked to at the top of each page).
[edit] Communication
For communication in and beyond the STS students community in Vienna there are several options. First there are two mailing lists, run by STS students. The first ist the sts-master mailinglist for all students inscribed in the STS master programme at the University of Vienna. Then there is the sts-info mailinglist, for all people generally interested in exchanging and debating informations regarding STS, with a focus on Vienna. Note, that all members of the sts-master list are automatically also subscribed to the sts-info mailinglist. So if you have general infos always send to sts-info. Only those messages destined for only MA STS students should be sent to sts-master.
Beyond these two lists, you can also use this wiki and it's discussion pages to communicate.
If you know from further open channels, please put relevant information here.
For STS master students in Vienna it is really recommended to join the sts-master list (link above) and for European/global announcements (conferences, call for papers, workshops, etc.) to join the EASST and STS Grad mailing lists (see in the link section below).
[edit] Projects
Here we can link relevant projects, which facilitate this wiki
- STS Hardware Collective - a decentral collection of useful hardware (like audio-recorders, etc.) to borrow for your projects
- Raspberry Strudel Group - a peer group of people writing their master/diploma thesis (mostly in STS/social science)
- ...
A list of further ideas, what different people would like to do, is collected on the following page (if you have any further interesting ideas, please put them there):
